Public consultation on new planning guidance for Swansea

I write to you in your capacity as an individual or organisation featured on the Council’s list of persons with an interest in the Swansea Local Development Plan (LDP).  As you may be aware the Council is formulating other planning policy documents alongside the LDP, which will both inform the preparation of this Plan and provide Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) to the adopted Swansea Unitary Development Plan (UDP).

You may be interested to know that a public consultation exercise on the following draft document will end at 4:30pm on 1st June 2012:

Planning For Community Safety Supplementary Planning Guidance

The above document will provide planning guidance in support of a range of UDP policies and assist decision making on future planning applications.  This SPG has been prepared as a result of an increasing realisation of the need to give guidance to all those involved in the built environment of the key issues to be considered in creating a safe environment where people can experience the best possible quality of life.

Any comments you may wish to make would be welcomed and will be used to inform the final version of the guidance.  Further information on the consultation is provided on the Council’s planning webpage from where a copy of the document may also be downloaded via:  Copies of the document are available for inspection at the Civic Centre, where additional comment forms may also be collected.

Representations can be made via the planning e-consultation system at, sent to or by post to the following address: Planning Policy Team, City and County of Swansea Council, Room 2.6.2, Civic Centre, Oystermouth Road, Swansea, SA1 3SN.

Yours faithfully

Phil Holmes
